XRechnung viewer
Germany: open XRechnung files in UBL or CII syntax, including the Leitweg-ID.
Read more →A ZUGFeRD or Factur-X invoice is a PDF with an XML file inside. Drop the PDF here and see what the embedded invoice data says, line by line.
ZUGFeRD (Germany) and Factur-X (France) are the same hybrid format: a normal-looking PDF/A-3 document with an XML file attached to it, usually called factur-x.xml or zugferd-invoice.xml. People read the PDF; software reads the XML.
The XML is the part that counts for tax and bookkeeping. And the two do not always match: an amount, IBAN or VAT rate in the PDF can differ from the data in the XML. Invoice Viewer shows you the XML version, so you see what your accounting software will book.
For the German mandate, the profiles EN 16931 (also called COMFORT), EXTENDED and XRECHNUNG qualify as e-invoices. The profiles MINIMUM and BASIC WL do not contain enough data to count as an e-invoice in Germany. The viewer shows the profile at the top, so you know what you received.
From 1 September 2026 every business in France must be able to receive e-invoices through an approved platform. Factur-X is one of the three allowed formats, next to UBL and CII. Large and mid-sized companies must also send e-invoices from that date; small businesses follow on 1 September 2027.

How it works
Drag the .xml file or the PDF onto the box, or choose it from your computer. A ZIP with several invoices works too (Pro).
You see seller, buyer, lines, VAT and the amount due, laid out like a normal invoice, in your language.
Copy the IBAN and payment reference, open embedded attachments, print the invoice or save it as PDF for your records.
Invoices contain business details, bank accounts and prices. That is why Invoice Viewer reads them inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded: not to us and not to anyone else. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded and it still works.

Then the PDF is an ordinary PDF without embedded XML. It is not a ZUGFeRD or Factur-X invoice, even if it says so in the text. You can still read it as a normal PDF.
Since ZUGFeRD 2.1 and Factur-X 1.0 the two are technically identical. ZUGFeRD is the German name, Factur-X the French one.
